The Finance Department is responsible for the fiscal management of the City of Sweet Home.

This includes:
  • Accounts payable
  • General accounting
  • Payroll
  • Preparing the annual budget
  • The City’s annual audit

Other Duties

The Finance Department is also responsible for:
  • Administering of the City’s municipal lien docket
  • Overseeing of the Transient Occupancy Tax program
  • Processing passport applications
  • Coordinating the City’s employees benefit program
  • Reviewing unclaimed property prior to sending reports to the state
  • Maintaining financial records relating to grants and contracts

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the City of Sweet Home six Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards and three Certificates of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The presentation of these awards demonstrates that the City of Sweet Home has achieved the highest standards in government accounting and financial reporting.
